SHARING IDEAS: ENGAGING WITH YOUR STAFF

The outbreak of Covid-19 has managed to temporarily close services and separate us however this virus cannot close our ideas and professional responsibilities to the communities that we serve - our children, their families and our staff.
Therefore, we want to hear from you! How are you keeping in touch? What works for you and your staff? How are you connecting to the children and each other?
Each week we will focus on one area of your work, including but not limited to your engagement with children, continuous building of partnerships with parents and your engagement with staff. We are asking you to share your ideas with a wider community of childcare professionals. Standing together and being a community makes us stronger and keeps us connected.

ENGAGING WITH YOUR STAFF
Points to consider:

  • How do you keep in touch with your staff?
  • Do you continue holding team meetings?
  • How do you motivate your staff during these uncertain times?
  • Have you revisited your CPD policy to include some online training or any other creative CPD requirements:

- Have you engaged with any CPD with your staff?

- What have you found that works well for you?

- Having considered the uptake of online or any other forms of CPD, have you created a CPD policy or amended other policies to reflect this which incorporates all staff?

  • What is the first thing you are planning on doing with your staff when re-open your service?
