Important PIP Announcement re: Capital Grants 27th March 2020


The Early Years Capital Programme 2020 was due to close to applications on 27 March 2020. Given the difficulties being experienced across Ireland at this time, the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) has decided to suspend applications for the 2020 capital programme, for now. DCYA will keep this situation under review and will be back in touch when there is an update.

Early Learning and Care & School Age Capital 2020 Programmes is now open for Applications.

Applications for funding can be made through the Programmes Implementation Platform (PIP).

The window will remain open up to Friday 27th March 2020 at 3pm.

The applicant guidelines for the Early Learning and Care and School Age Childcare Capital Programme 2020 can be found on your PIP portal.

Please read these guidelines carefully before making an application.

Early Learning and Care and School Age Childcare Capital Grant 2020

Service providers are invited to apply for funding under the following strands:

Strand A:  Creation of new places for 0-2.8 year

olds (max. €50,000 per grant).

Strand B:  Works required for regulatory compliance for community services – (max. €1,200 per grant).

Strand C:  Creation of new school age places - €700,000 (max. €20,000 per grant).

The funding objectives are the continued expansion of early learning and care places for 0-2.8 year olds, and to create additional places for school age childcare.

Funding is also being made available to support community/not-for-profit early learning and care services in addressing issues identified during the process of Tusla re-registration.

Please note: Strand B is open to all Community Owned Early Learning and Care Services & School Age.
