Learner Fund 3 (May 2016)

Learner Fund 3 (May 2016) is now open to registered childminders and to those with a Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) qualification recognition letter.


Who can apply:

If you have applied to the DCYA for qualification status recognition and have received a letter verifying that your current qualification is not a Major Award at Level 5, or if you are a registered childminder who does not hold a Major Award at Level 5 you are now eligible to apply to Learner Fund 3 (May 2016).

This will enable you to undertake a Major Award at Level 5 to meet minimum regulatory qualification requirements. 

This process is open between May 27th and July 29th 2016.

How to apply:

Applications should be submitted by service providers on behalf of a staff member with the staff member’s authorisation. Registered Childminders can apply on their own behalf. A relevant DCYA qualification recognition letter/Tusla Registration Acknowledgement must be uploaded with the Learner Fund 3 (May 2016) application.

A Learner who has applied to the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) for qualification status recognition and who has received a letter from DCYA verifying that with their current qualification the Learner does not hold a Major Award at Level 5; those Learners are eligible to apply for Learner Fund 3 (May 2016) in order to undertake a Major Award at Level 5 to meet future minimum regulatory qualification requirements.
