NCIP Capital Funding
Dublin City Childcare Committee has been informed that there is no longer capital funding available for childcare providers under the National Childcare Investment Programme. We received notification of this following the Supplementary Budget in April 2009. As a result of the decision made in the Supplementary Budget regarding the 2009 Exchequer Funding Allocations, The Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs is not in a position to approve any more grant applications.
The Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs have written to capital grant applicants who were awaiting a decision to inform them that it is not possible to approve their grant applications at this time. Should the capital become available in 2011 and 2012, the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs will be informing City and County Childcare Committees. Any new information will be communicated to providers through our quarterly newsletter and our website ww.childcareonline.ie Any existing capital grants which have already been approved will continue to be supported by the Dublin City Childcare Committee during 2010.
