Groups funded under CCSS and ECCE

Childcare services currently being funded under the Community Childcare Subvention Scheme (CCSS) may also apply for funding under ECCE.  Provision will be made to ensure this does not amount to double funding. CCSS funded services participating in ECCE will make joint ECCE/CCSS returns, as some of their children will be funded under ECCE and others under the CCSS.  Funding for 2010 therefore will be calculated based on joint electronic returns and parent declaration forms, covering both schemes. Where such a service is entitled to 75% of EOCP funding in 2010, this figure shall be met by a combination of CCSS subventions, ECCE capitation, and top-up (where applicable). Therefore groups should be aware that this may affect any top-up amounts which apply to them in 2010.

CCSS-funded services should note that CCSS funding is based on the number of weeks the service is open, and should this reduce (e.g. from 46 weeks to 38 weeks) this may impact on their 75% minimum funding level in 2010.
